Nova Launcher Prime

What Nova Launcher Prime does

Nova Launcher Prime is an Android home-screen and app-drawer replacement for people who want more control over how their phone is arranged. It lets users change the layout of the home screen, organise apps into folders or drawer groups, hide selected apps from view and assign extra actions to gestures or app icons.

It suits users who find a phone’s standard launcher too limited, especially those who want separate spaces for work, entertainment and everyday tools. It can also be useful on a shared or family phone when a simpler, more deliberate layout is preferable to a crowded default screen.

How it can change everyday navigation

• Gestures: Actions such as swipes, pinches and double taps can be linked to apps or launcher commands.
• App organisation: Folders and drawer groups help divide a large collection of apps into clearer sections.
• Hidden apps: Less-used apps can be removed from the visible app drawer without uninstalling them.
• Icon shortcuts: A swipe on an icon can perform a different action from a normal tap.
• Notification indicators: Badges and related display effects can make unread activity easier to spot.

Who should choose it?

This is a better fit for someone who enjoys adjusting settings and building a particular phone layout than for someone who wants everything to stay close to the manufacturer’s default. The number of options may take time to learn, so a first-time smartphone user could find the settings more involved than necessary.

What the listing shows

Nova Launcher Prime is listed under Personalization and is developed by Instabridge Sweden AB. It has a rating of 4.16 out of 5 from 367,858 ratings, with 5,000,000+ installs. Those figures suggest broad use and a substantial body of user feedback, while the rating still leaves room for individual preferences about launchers and customisation.
